We spend many weekends here and absolutely love the family atmosphere, there's tons to do and the campground is close to town or has a general store if you've forgotten anything. I highly recommend Riverbend Campground! ... Read More

Was looking for a campground close to the city as my husband was on call this past weekend but we really needed to get out of the city and get away and relax. I found Riverbend campground online and decided to give it a try and see if they had space. Being we booked only 4 days in advance of a busy summer weekend I was surprised we got in. We stayed for two nights Fri/Sat. It was easy to find and upon arrival the ladies in the office where very friendly and helpful. We were happy to see a fully stocked store as well since we forgot cheese!!! We were shown on a map where our site was and had no issues with finding our way around the campground. Our site was a great size and very well shaded from the direct sun between some trees. We had great neighbours on either side of us and got set up no problem. For those reading the other reviews like me and wondering...this is a natural setting campground...so yes it's gravel roads and dirt roads as well as dirt/gravel lots. There are lots of trees however and there are some sites right along the river that have no trees at all. Basically if you want riverfront you may have no trees, if you want trees for shade then don't book riverfront and walk to the river. The entire campground is bordered by the Sheep River so access is never an issue. Bring your RV mats as you will want to use those so you don't have to walk on the gravel/dirt. Also anyone who can read a map can find their way around, it's not rocket science. There are a few tight spots for the larger 5th wheel/motorhomes to make their way around but you just need to take your time. The sites are somewhat packed together so if your expecting a layout like a provincial park with trees and lots of space between your neighbours you will be disappointed. The picnic tables can be moved as well as the fire pit rings which allows you to customize your site which was fantastic. I can't rate the washroom facilities as I never used them, however a heads up that the sani dump station at the office does not have water access. This would be really the only thing I'd complain about as no one wants to put away a dirty sewage hose. Yucky. We just hauled out and dumped elsewhere. Overall it was a great place, friendly staff and fantastic weekend swimming with our dog in the river!!! Great spot and will recommend to friends and family. ... Read More

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!! My family an I have seen many Campgrounds in our travels, but not like Riverbend. The sites are large and great for an RV or trailer, and most important there clean. The wife raves, about how clean the bathrooms are. Lots of things for the kids to do. But for us,Its about the lawn chair the relaxing and listening to the water run by with the sounds of the birds in the air. We recently had our company BBQ there, all I know is now I have to fight more people for a reservation (FYI...Never been turned away). Great job Riverbend!! ... Read More

Visited for 5 days, our father in law who is a seasonal camper in the park. We loved our time at Riverbend and would come back. Amazing family friendly, laid back atmosphere; the other guests that we mingled with were all great. The pond / lake is fantastic and the river is perfect for a cool down / rinse. Playgrounds and shower houses are very nice and clean as well. Lots of staff running around making sure everything stays tight. Obviously not the campground’s fault… but the mosquitoes were atrocious, bring bug spray and long sleeve clothing for the evenings. EDITED: to say that everywhere we went after River Bend was horrid for Mosquitos. 2022 was year of the skeet. This should in no way reflect poorly on the camp ground. ... Read More

What an exceptional campground. No wonder they won a tripadvisor award. The washrooms are of the cleanest I have ever seen at a campground. Lots of amenities, multiple playgrounds, full hookups, couldn't ask for a better spot. Its right outside okotoks, but the drive down to the site makes it feel like you are far away from any civilization. ... Read More

Just wanted to say coming from a guy who has hated camping with a passion his entire life, due to the great people ( from all the staff and fellow campers) I have a new found appreciation for the nature, friendships, and peacefulness that Riverbend Campground has provided. I love camping and can’t wait till next year ( side note…please get an Indigenous food truck next year with some bannock burgers ) have a great winter ! ... Read More
