We loved our stay at Riverbend! We were lucky to get the tent site on the water. Our kids loved the playgrounds, trails and public use beach area. The bathrooms/showers were very well kept and firewood was well priced. We loved that it was away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary but close enough to do day trips with the kids.

Our family loved this campground! It is situated far enough off the highway that you don’t get any road noise and right on the doorstep of Okotoks so heading into town takes two minutes. The sites are gravelled and include a table and fire pit. We were camped on the pond by the dock and had a great view! There is a lot of activities for the kids (boat rental, pedal cart rental, mini golf, and a nice series of nature trails) and you also have easy access to the river. The shower houses were nice and clean and maintained on a daily basis. The office staff deserve special mention - friendly, helpful, and funny they made us feel welcome and at home. They also made the kids feel welcome by cracking little jokes with them and encouraging them to have fun. Some people have mentioned the little fees for rentals and wifi and such and at first I was a little annoyed but when you walk around the grounds you can see they flip the money into maintaining the camp (and the fees are reasonable) so I really didn’t mind. Also take the high nature trail you see on the left as you drive down the hill. After you pass a small shop site you get a great view of the wetland that runs along the side of the camp it’s surprisingly lovely. We will back next year!

Very nice campground. Quiet, very clean, kid friendly. Lots of maintenance staff around taking care of the place every day. Seems to be mostly seasonal residents there but there is still short term camping available. Good size sites. Clean bathrooms. Plenty to do. Friendly staff in the office. More room and privacy than many private campgrounds. But you’re still close to your neighbours. Overall one of our best camping experiences to date.

I loved this campground. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We booked lasy minutes because of work and they accommodated us right away and set up entry in case we were late. They had lots of fire wood to purchase and the sites along the lake were fairly large and private. We stayed in 2 sites and they were both full service hookups for motorhomes. Would definitely go back if I were in the area again

Love my time spent at riverbend. Staff are very accommodating and try to make everybody happy and enjoy the camping experience. Very geared toward children and families, have been taking my grandson there since before he was 3 and he loves it there, owner are great with him especially Auntie Kim. I was skeptical of this campground cause of some of the reviews I saw. But we said we'd take the chance. Well sorry (not sorry) to the bad reviewers but this place amamzing! They were full up for the long weekend and even still it was completely silent after 10pm and there was still space at the river to relax. Golf carts were not driving around fast and there was no loud music. The campers and staff were lovely and respectful. They had a gay pride parade and karaoke for the long weekend. It was great! I am 100% going back. Thanks for an amazing long weekend. Restrooms: Very clean. Dog-friendliness: We had a dog with us and there were lots of other dogs. All the dogs were on leashes and all dog owners were respectful. No poop lying around the place.

Very nice campground, 20 min. South of Calgary. Lots of playgrounds, super cleaned bathrooms and showers. Lots of long terms residents. The Office is fully stocked with many items that you might have forgot to bring. Sheep river is on the South edge of the sites. We had an awesome time with our kids. We will come back.

My wife and I both love coming here. The staff are friendly. Washrooms are so clean you could eat off the floor. They have nice nature trails where you could see many different types of birds. You could see sparrows, woodpeckers and deer. They have a fountain in the middle of the lake with many different colors at night. They have various playgrounds and mini golf for the kids. If you run short on food they have a little store where you can buy weiners, bacon and a variety of snacks chips, ice cream, pop and a variety of chocolate bars.

This campground was calm and relaxing. While the campsites are close together, there are trees, bushes and enough of your own private space to feel at ease. Small parks are a relief to children and they have a beautiful large pond with a small gravel beach and fountains. Just walk a bit and you'll also come to the Sheep River. We had fun floating the kids on the stream. The bathroom and laundry facilities are clean and affordable too. It was a really nice stay. I can understand why people would want to stay year long!
